May 4th
Star Wars day! One of my favorite days of the year! And it also happens to be the day I started stims (or injections). I hadn’t been nervous at all, until the box of medication with syringes and needles showed up to our home. And suddenly, I had no idea how I was going to stab myself in the stomach with a needle. However, after the first shot, every day from there on out was a breeze. I had to take 75iu of Manipur in the morning, 150iu of follistim in the evening (later switched over to only 75iu), and after three days of injections, I also introduced ganirelix to my morning injections as well. My evening follistim injection required my refrigerating and injecting myself at work. Luckily, right now I work for a preschool, and a majority of my day is spent in a kitchen. So I was able to put my meds right in the area I work in, and inject myself without drawing attention to myself.
Due to the response my body was having to the meds, my egg retrieval was moved up from Tuesday May 15th, to Mother’s Day-Sunday May 13th.
My wife and I are bummed to have to miss Mother’s Day with eri’s Mom and grandmother, but we couldn’t help but be excited about two very lucky and significant days for our journey to baby!
